I am totally not agree with the current TV show in Astro called "Vaanavil Super Star Maaperum Isai Yutham".You might be thinking, as though they need my permission to air this program? I know, I can hear your mind voice. Anyway I do still have the rights to voice out my dissatisfaction. Okay let me blabber about what I'm not satisfy with...!
1. The Title and the Contestants.
When it says "Maaperum Isai Yutham" then the contestant should be from those who are already won the previous "yutham". I mean only previous years winners should be counted for this year talent hunt. So it will be more professional and there we can feel a real war has begun. But what happened this year was, participants are from the group of finalist and the winners as well. (For example, Alinda, Rishikesha, Anuradha, Charumathi, and Logeswaran all were the previous years winners) WHAT IF such a situation happens; Alinda is being graded lesser point than the contestant who doesn't made it to the winning previously. And WHAT IF at the end, the winner of VSS 2012 was not from any of the previous winners list. I find its clearly sounds that the previous years judges were wrong in their marking and grading and had selected a wrong winner. RIGHT?!
But still I was compromised by my brother Rishi. He said, "you can't blame the judges. The judges are always right and they had selected the winner for each and every year according to some criteria." He added, "at the time of finale, the winning factors for a winner may vary. Its maybe the situation which they overcome, their perfection in practice, their nervous problem or health condition and many more to consider. So for example, Anuradha who won in 2003, didn't do well in Aramba Kalam2. That means we cannot blame the judge. Coz at the year 2003, among the contestants she did her best and the judge graded her according to her performance. So its all depends on performances. So you cannot say when James Vasanthan criticized Anuradha that doesn't mean he is humiliating Deva's decision who had became the judge of 2003..! Its something that what people say in this world changes are the only thing which never change."
Okay point noted and what he said was really make sense. But what I am not agree with was, the participants..!!! Pffftttt...Yeah still the participants...:( I feel like Astro is trying to compare workers (finalist) with CEOs (winner). Thats what I felt. You have already acknowledged and stamped a person as winner, but why you still want them to compete with other singers? I don't think so its a smart move. The winners should compete with another winners. Maybe they can do like having elimination each week and find the winner of VSS12. Then its called a real war! And I'm still wondering what has happened to Sheila Raman, Jhaishree, Michael Rao, Dharshaini, Jerry John and Ganesan Manoharan..? Why they are not in the competition..?

2. When The Prizes are Cash and Car.
To those who had watched the 2nd Kalam on last Saturday 5th May 12. You might have heard that one of the contestant and who was previous year's winner too, mentioned that she had never made her way seriously into singing after her album had released. That means those who are taking part will be only aiming to get the prizes which is car and cash money and wouldn't made any improvement for their singing in the future? I would say, in a search of Superstar, the biggest prize will be, sending the champion to India to learn the basic music (both Carnatic and Ghazal) with full knowledge of vocal and instrument accompaniment and with the guidance of No1 voice expert in India, yet still keep the money as 2nd half of the prize. NOW this is the GRAND PRIZE for the Malaysians who were lack of knowledge in sanggetham, thaalam, shruthi, layam and so on...;) I am not degrading the Malaysian musician and singers who have very good knowledge though. But what I'm saying is...about the BRAND. The quality will be there when you are getting it from the original!

To say it simply if you found a piece of misshapen diamond covered with carbon from deep under the ground, you don't straight away sell it right...? So we need the gems to be shaped up well and polished nicely to shine and shimmer and make it all time No1 stone.
So if that would be the PRIZE, then the participants will be totally filtered into different categorization. And those are might not only come after cash. Okay, of course money is important, but lets put it in a 2nd place lah, Malaysians! Make them a way to indulge deeper in music!
3. Points and Stars.
Actually what is the use of stars when giving points? Isn't it something like "wild card". So the best thing to reveal the star holders points are at the end of the Aramba Kalam, I meant at the 4th Kalam. But what they did was something very very unfair. They have only filtered 6 toppers in each episode. But they forgot to consider the one who fall on 7th, 8th places in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd Kalam also have good points than the 6 toppers from the last episode. So that means the filtration for the "Attakaasam Kalam" was not in a proper order. The judges for the all 4 episodes of Aramba Kalam were the same, and the contestants were already selected to perform according to their slot, so that means there were no grading before doing the performances and all were equal. Its just because their slots were in different episodes that doesn't mean they have to grade according to episodes! So that is wrong method of grading!!! If you intended to select 6 toppers from each episode, then finish it off that week by announcing the best singer as the episode winner. That is the way of fair selection! (*this is the affect of watching too many talent quest in youtube..haizz*)
So my blabbering about this issue ends here...I'm not going to continue it for the Attakaasa Kalam...because my favourite Naresh Iyer will be the next episode's judge and I'm going to zip off my mouth and just sit watch him....yeh..yeh..yeh...!
Last but not least, its much better if Astro had introduced fresh faces for this VSS 2012. At least the viewers won't get boring and there will be more chances for others to show their talent and come up in their life as well. So please give the opportunity for the youngsters...at least for next year..!!

ReplyDeleteHi Suji Sujitha,
DeleteThanks for commenting here. If you don't know how to advice, then don't do it.
1. When u said "I would have much better work to do rather than blabbering here" let me tell you what was the best work I've done. I made YOU to read my blog and shared your opinion.
2. "Talented ppl always wins"...? that sounds I don't like that Alinda has won..! NO..NOT AT ALL! If you "don't have much better work to do", then I think u should read the write-up again. For your info, I knew who is the winner when I saw Alinda in the Heats.
3. "Viewers enjoyed watching VSS 2012....?" Oh come on lady, may I know how many of them..? Did all the Astro subscribers came and tell you they enjoyed it? Please grow up...! If you can't take the negative comments...then that is not my problem.
4. All ur advices doesn't make sense at all...and let's see what was ur last advice which u specially mentioned at the end. "there are much more important things i should achieve in my life"! What do you know abt my life and my achievements?? Have you walked with me in my glorious or struggling days? No rite.
So moral of the story is:-
I think you must be a big fan of Alinda. And while you were searching Alinda's biodata u found this blog. You get distracted when I used her in my write-up for comparing with others singers. Well, honestly I appreciate ur comment but try to make it healthier one next time. I know my blog do help few ppl. Oh yeah, it is my new achievement now. Thx for making me realize it. Bye!
Hi Sashi,
