7aam Arivu..! I am still searching it in me....:)

Movie : 7Aum Arivu
Cinema : Seat Q1, Hall 2, LFS State PJ
Time : 6pm
Date : 01.11.11

First, let me give a grand salutation..."KUDOS...to the director A.R. Murugadoss", for bringing the Tamizh cinema into new era. Such a bravery attempt, hard work and so many researches for this one movie...! What a mind blowing story...! Speechless for the first 30 minutes. Awesome creation of the year..! This is a movie that every Indians from every where in the world should watch..no its a MUST WATCH movie. I felt like finish reading a book with 1000 pages in 3 hours.

I am not going to discuss about the plot here coz you can find it at wiki. Click link below

So what am I going to discuss here then...hehe lets read it..:)

Surya as "Bodhidharma and His Introduction"
The first 30 minutes about the full life history of Bodhidharma will really make you feel goose bump. Surya as Bodhidharma or "Damo" has acted well and really improvised himself to fit the character accordingly and perfect. This "Damo" Surya will remain in your heart forever. Real shame on Indians for not knowing "who is Bodhidharma?" (especially at the interview session). Shocked to know the creator of Shaolin Temple was the Indian King who went from Kanchipuram (Pallava). We had lost him to others. I got mad at Bodhidharma when he ate the poisoned food. At the ending of the introduction, the phrase "China, Japan, Thailand le koyil katti kumbidare oru Tamizhanai ethanai Tamizhanukku teriyum?" was really powerful.

Surya as "Aravind the Circus Guy"
Since the "Bodhidharma" Surya played the biggest role in this movie, "Aravind" Surya (the descendant of the Bodhidharma) definitely won't touch your heart that much. Some of his comical scenes will make you laugh, such as theme park photo snap, returning back missing hand phone, elephant riding, when giving puppet to Shruti and explained to his friend that "I love you" is something like "Today is Wednesday"...yeah yeah all these scenes are fun..:)) Something to praise about Surya is he learned the martial art and equally performed with Johnny(villain actor) who is the 4th generation of the martial art master.

Shruthi Haasan as "Subha the BioTech Student"
A pretty doll. She is not sexy but she looks so graceful, sweet and intelligent. Perfect casting for the role. She will reminds you Katrina Kaif. She has her dad's eye, mom's face cut and her cousin sister Anu's voice. Good dressing sense, looks gorgeous in churidar and kurti. Done a good acting in her very first Tamil movie (not like aishu in jeans). One of her crying scene (when she got to know her friend Imran is dead) will remind you Kamal's style (the famous Nayagan crying tone..ah..ahhh..)

Johnny Tri-Nguyen as "Dong-Lee the Assassin from China"
Honestly speaking he stole the show in 2nd half of the movie. The perfect and first class villain. There is no Sumo or Ambassador chasing, no "gundas", no "paanparak", no "arival", no pistol and no punch dialogues. His only weapons is his eyes, which he has been using it for "Nokku Varmam" (hipnotism). Acted well and about his stunts...no arguments, coz done a great job.

What about songs? Yup..I wanna talk about that too..:)

Chinese Song
Very melancholic. The mother and daughter scene was very touching. Appreciate if it's fully in Chinese version. Half of the song which sang in Tamil lyrics spoiled it actually. Make me to think does "Damo" taught them tamil too..other than martial art and make medicine ??

Oh Ringa..Ringa..

An intro song for Surya. He will be dancing with 1000 dancer in a public place. Plot is to promote his circus show. But once I saw this clip, I remember the "Tribute to MJ" dance, where the dancers will be mixed up in public places such as street/shopping complex. Once the music started all of them will dance together.

Mun Andhi ChaaralilKarthik's voice will make you melt and dissolve and Krabi Island was heaven.

Yemma Yemma Kaathal Ponnamma..
The lyrics, the music, and legend singer SPB voice..all are perfect for 2011 best love failure song. BUT...in this movie, this song is not needed at all. Clearly we can see, that Subha is not in love with Aravind and she never ever tried to tackle or seduce him too. So I felt that the video clip of the song is a total waste. This song will reminds you " avan enna enna thedi vantha anjala" from Vaaranam Aayiram.

Yele Lama...
Out from the situation. Can you imagine..rock style romantic song...while you were waiting at the bus stop in the mid of night, knowing that you are being assassinated. Song clip similar to "Ooh Aayiye..Aayiye" from Ayan.

Innum Enna Thozha..
Good song at the rite timing. You'll get provoked.

Not minus point...only my Dissatisfaction okay...

1. Sincerely there is no chemistry in between Surya and Shruti. I don't feel any magic in between both of them on the screen. Nor when proposing love neither in any lovey dovey songs...such a waste. I think it would be fine if their relationship is just like Surya and Nayan in Ghajini.

2. At the time when they discuss at cemetery how to fight back the villain, why does the idea of research process on Surya's DNA came out only from Malathi? Isn't it Shruthi who have done the thesis for the past 3 years and struggled a lot to find out about Bodhidharma and his descendent should voice out first? That scene make dull shade on Shruthi who shined in the beginning.

3. It would have make sense if the climax fight scene starts, after the 12 days of complete experiment on Surya's DNA. I know its Biotech Engineering issue. And I'm not a Biotech student as well. But its slightly not logic at all, to expect a positive result when you stopped an experiment in half way. Rite or not..?

4. The nerves activation in Surya's body in the climax fight scene..reminds me "Ratchakan" movie.

5. A big question, does the eye colour will change too...after the DNA activation?

6. The car accident graphics are too obvious. Get bored with the lengthy accident shot.

Overall...
This is still the best movie for me. Even though I'd mentioned few of my dissatisfaction, all that were faded away in front of the marvelous story creation by director. ARM, you are another Manirathnam.
