Aquaria KLCC

Its 5th November. 2nd week after Deepavali. I brought my cousins for outings. This time is to Aquaria KLCC is an underwater park located beneath Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre and adjacent to Petronas Twin Towers. I've never been there before so I don't know where the entrance is. I and my lil brother Seelan were planned to look for the way to Aquaria while my uncle, aunty and the other 2 kids were waiting at KFC. When we couldn't find the way, we decided to ask the guard there. I asked him, "Excuse me, do u know where is the entrance for Aquaria?"....and the guard replied, "I..no..speak..english..sorry.." I and my brother were look at us each other and shocked. Then we looked at the guard from top to bottom and then we left. It was so surprising to know that a guard who is working in KLCC, in the mid of city, where there were flooded with foreigners, doesn't speak or understand English language...Great..! But then some how we found the way and entered.

Che Pang Khor

So Pangkor Island's name come from a Chinese name....CHE PANG KHOR...! Hmm...I just got to know it when got down from the jetty and while waiting for the taxi. Wait..wait..wait...how do I come here...? Okay here is the flash back..:)

It was year end, month end and of course weekend...and I am supposed to clear my annual leaves which are 5.5 days. So I planned well to spend it with my sithi's (my mom's sis) house at Ipoh. So I took early bus on Sat 17th Dec at 7.30am and reached Ipoh at 9.45am. After get refreshed and relaxed few hours, we started our journey at 3pm. Since it's only an hour traveling from Ipoh we moved quite late. All our journey was full of fun and laughs. Reached Lumut at 5.45pm...it was that late because we stop here and there along our journey. Somehow we get into the Ferry at 6pm.

My sithi and her cute daughter Priya.

Sithappa with his naughty sons beside him. Oops lil shake..!

My lil bro who is giving pose for my lensa...

 The Ferry Ride....

So... the ferry ride was very comfortable. Big and spacious, fully air-conditioned. But if you wish to take some fresh air, then you can enter the back door to see the sea view and breath the fish smell. Yes..most Pangkorian's income are from "fish catching technology"....hehe;) and Pangkor is famous for the anchovies and salted fish.

Reached the Che Pang Khor at 6.30pm. So now you can guess where the first photo I mentioned earlier was taken. In a hurry we forgot to do something, you know what is that..? We forgot to book hotel or never take down any numbers of hotel which listed in the Lumut Jetty itself. Still we think its not a big matter at all. Because it is not Christmas or New Year eve, for the guests to filled up the room. But when we got into the van taxi, the taxi uncle informed there was a festival going on in Pangkor and most of the hotels are fully booked. Yes, while we looking for hotel rooms we passed through the place. Its Festival Puisi dan Lagu Rakyat Antarabangsa 2011 which held on the 17-18th Dec 2011. The chief guest is DYTM Raja Muda Perak (the most handsome man in kerabat diraja Perak that I've ever known) and few ministers as well. So that is why the ferry ride for 18th will be free for everybody.

The taxi uncle was very friendly. His name is K.V. Karunanithi and his contact number is 012-505 7079. You can call his number and just book his van for your tour. He was so good to bring us from hotel to hotel till we found a budget hotel which is very near to the beach. Oh...its not hotel actually, its called Standard Pangkor Camp...yup camp..!

  The view from the road....

The entrance to the rooms....

The corridor...the 2 doors opened was our rooms No.3 and No.4

Well, since the name is camp so they designed few rooms like this.

We took 2 rooms for RM120 each per night. When we entered the rooms, they were totally new and even can smell its newly painted. Its small, not luxurious yet very convenient. Its fully air-conditioned come with king size bed, tv, cupboard, dressing table and attached bathroom with heater. Just nice for a family. Well, the price may vary at not peak hours. Because the normal beach resort rooms which is RM200 was raised to RM500 on that day just because of that festival. So this RM 120 at normal day would be more cheaper.

The bedroom....

The bathroom...

So this is their business card. This camp was run by one Chinese family. They were very friendly and helpful. The plus of the camp is, it is very very clean, convenient and just a walking distance to the beach and the restaurants and shops.

After we kept our things in the room, we rushed to the restaurant which is just next door to our Camp room. Its not like next door exactly but next lot...its just less than 5 minutes walking distance from the room. The restaurant name is Coco Restaurant.

Along the way to the restaurant, Rambutan tree with full fruits will be welcoming you...

While waiting for food that we ordered to be arrived soon...some poses by my cute lil sis..:)

 Fish curry Asam Pedas...

 Fried Prawn.....

Sotong Ketchup...

Kangkung with Belacan...

 Mix vege.....

And.......

Here is how its end....;)

Just after the dinner, we walked back to our room and get refreshed. Taking the hot bath at the fast shower was awesome. Make us feel so soothing when resting on the bed. After few minutes chit chat, we planned to go for a walk at beach. But my uncle planned to eat the "ikan bakar" (grilled fish). Yes its not to be missed agenda if ever come to Pangkor Island.

Ikan Bakar with sambal belacan and fresh orange juice is really a good combination for late dinner.

After the ikan bakar session...before home made tea for supper....I really love this picture. While my uncle were in his room, all of us like to gather here and make jokes and have fun.

Its sandy time.....
The next morning we wake up 8.30am and I bring the kids to beach and did some exercise and let them have some warm up session. Then I let them played in the water while looking after our things and taking some photos. The kids were not that much enjoyed coz the sea water has strong fish smell and not clean.

 She is really a poser....

After had some fun at the beach, we get refreshed and packed our things to check out at 12pm. Then after had a lunch at nearby restaurant, we took van and reached jetty. There were such a long queue of peoples waiting for free ride. Because the ferry service is free on that day and there were no special schedule for the transport. So first come will get first ferry.

 While waiting for ferry....

We waited for 1 hour in the queue till we get the ferry. Reached Lumut at 5pm. Did some shopping there. What is the most famous there...?

Anchovies of course...!

After the shopping, my uncle never stop anywhere and straight headed to Ipoh. We reached home at 6pm. It was nice, simple and happy holiday trip for us. Overall...we enjoyed:)

A Gift Of Life.....Let's Be An Organ Donor..:)

It has been always pops out in my mind since few years back. But my intention was to make the vow on my birthday. Hehe..because I wanted the date I become organ donor to be on my date of birth. It's sounds silly..but I don't know why I was stick to it. But then on my every birthday, this birthday gal will be very busy, somehow the plan will be changed or I will be away for a gathering or vacation or....will be working on my birthday.

So this coming 2012, I planned very well coz, that my date of birth will be falling on one fine Sunday. And I can't miss the opportunity to do the good deed. But a sudden thought crossed my mind. It may sounds little creepy or crazy...but its true...! I have thought "How if I'm dead before my birthday?" I know..I know...its not creepy or crazy...or its sounds stupid rite...! But what if it really happened..? So I decided to register become donor on the day itself. That means today..24th November 2011. The date brings nothing special to me before...but now yeah, its a special date..the date I registered as an organ donor.

I felt that I've done something best in the world...a divine thing. I know, I will be saving someones life, a family or perhaps I might change somebody's future after my death. I'm proud that I've done it. Maybe this entry makes you feel that I'm bragging about my pledge become as organ donor..but actually I'M NOT. I wanted you all to visit www.agiftoflife.gov.my and to see the statistic patients who are waiting for kidney, heart and liver transplantation. At least the huge numbers will open your eyes to sign up for this good deed.

Its such simple way to do the registration. Everything is online. You don't have to go to the Transplan Centre or General Hospital...its just a click... a finger gap distance....so why don't you do it? Below I've attached the link in this post. So it ease all.

You still can see this beautiful world......once again..!
You still can breath the fresh air........once again..!
You still can fall in love.............once again..!
So let's continuously live in this world through others life...even though we are no more...:)

I've Found My First Ever School Time Best Friend...:)

Her name is S.Thilakawathy, small in size..skinny...fairer than me...with short hair. I met her in my primary school (Vivekananda, PJ) when I was studying standard one. We were in the same class every year then. She will be the class monitor every year and I'll be her assistant..I used to sit beside her...yes, only beside her. I never let anybody sit beside her or get closer to her:) Coz she is my BEST FRIEND u know...and I'm very possessive in her matter. We used to go everywhere together, till most of our teacher knew about us. She became my best friend till we finish our standard 6. After that we lost our contacts as we move on to different secondary schools. Yeah, I know this happens to many. Then, I met her back when I was studying Form 3. We studied tuition together in SMC, Vivekananda (Brickfields). Her look was never changed. That was the last time I met her in 1996.

But today after 15 years, I called and talked to her. Thank to Caron, my niece who is studying in Vivekananda PJ, helped me pass the letter that I wrote to her teacher Miss Thilakawathy. Yup, I found Thilaka...:)) When talking to Caron, I got to know that Thilaka working as teacher in the same school that we studied.

Was soooo.. excited when talking to her through phone. She said she was busy when Caron passed the letter and thought it was from a student, since it was "Report Card Day" in her school today. Then when she opened the letter she knew it was from me. She mentioned me, my Tamizh hand writing never changed yet. Wow...! I'm so touched. She still remember my handwriting..!!! God, that is so impressive...:) We shared some left out stories about what happened in between our BIG gap.

I requested her to sign up in Facebook. But she said "I'm not interested in that "chapter" yet and laughed. And then we talked about our future for a while. Then planned to have a gathering too. Hoping to meet her soon and other friends as well...:) I am still wondering how beautiful is she right now..:)

This is our 3rd standard class photo. She is the one wearing green color tie, sitting first row just beside the teacher. I am in the photo too, but not beside her just a bit further in the same row.

7aam Arivu..! I am still searching it in me....:)

Movie : 7Aum Arivu
Cinema : Seat Q1, Hall 2, LFS State PJ
Time : 6pm
Date : 01.11.11

First, let me give a grand salutation..."KUDOS...to the director A.R. Murugadoss", for bringing the Tamizh cinema into new era. Such a bravery attempt, hard work and so many researches for this one movie...! What a mind blowing story...! Speechless for the first 30 minutes. Awesome creation of the year..! This is a movie that every Indians from every where in the world should watch..no its a MUST WATCH movie. I felt like finish reading a book with 1000 pages in 3 hours.

I am not going to discuss about the plot here coz you can find it at wiki. Click link below
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/7aum_Arivu#Plot

So what am I going to discuss here then...hehe lets read it..:)

Surya as "Bodhidharma and His Introduction"
The first 30 minutes about the full life history of Bodhidharma will really make you feel goose bump. Surya as Bodhidharma or "Damo" has acted well and really improvised himself to fit the character accordingly and perfect. This "Damo" Surya will remain in your heart forever. Real shame on Indians for not knowing "who is Bodhidharma?" (especially at the interview session). Shocked to know the creator of Shaolin Temple was the Indian King who went from Kanchipuram (Pallava). We had lost him to others. I got mad at Bodhidharma when he ate the poisoned food. At the ending of the introduction, the phrase "China, Japan, Thailand le koyil katti kumbidare oru Tamizhanai ethanai Tamizhanukku teriyum?" was really powerful.

Surya as "Aravind the Circus Guy"
Since the "Bodhidharma" Surya played the biggest role in this movie, "Aravind" Surya (the descendant of the Bodhidharma) definitely won't touch your heart that much. Some of his comical scenes will make you laugh, such as theme park photo snap, returning back missing hand phone, elephant riding, when giving puppet to Shruti and explained to his friend that "I love you" is something like "Today is Wednesday"...yeah yeah all these scenes are fun..:)) Something to praise about Surya is he learned the martial art and equally performed with Johnny(villain actor) who is the 4th generation of the martial art master.

Shruthi Haasan as "Subha the BioTech Student"
A pretty doll. She is not sexy but she looks so graceful, sweet and intelligent. Perfect casting for the role. She will reminds you Katrina Kaif. She has her dad's eye, mom's face cut and her cousin sister Anu's voice. Good dressing sense, looks gorgeous in churidar and kurti. Done a good acting in her very first Tamil movie (not like aishu in jeans). One of her crying scene (when she got to know her friend Imran is dead) will remind you Kamal's style (the famous Nayagan crying tone..ah..ahhh..)

Johnny Tri-Nguyen as "Dong-Lee the Assassin from China"
Honestly speaking he stole the show in 2nd half of the movie. The perfect and first class villain. There is no Sumo or Ambassador chasing, no "gundas", no "paanparak", no "arival", no pistol and no punch dialogues. His only weapons is his eyes, which he has been using it for "Nokku Varmam" (hipnotism). Acted well and about his stunts...no arguments, coz done a great job.

What about songs? Yup..I wanna talk about that too..:)

Chinese Song
Very melancholic. The mother and daughter scene was very touching. Appreciate if it's fully in Chinese version. Half of the song which sang in Tamil lyrics spoiled it actually. Make me to think does "Damo" taught them tamil too..other than martial art and make medicine ??

Oh Ringa..Ringa..

An intro song for Surya. He will be dancing with 1000 dancer in a public place. Plot is to promote his circus show. But once I saw this clip, I remember the "Tribute to MJ" dance, where the dancers will be mixed up in public places such as street/shopping complex. Once the music started all of them will dance together.

Mun Andhi ChaaralilKarthik's voice will make you melt and dissolve and Krabi Island was heaven.

Yemma Yemma Kaathal Ponnamma..
The lyrics, the music, and legend singer SPB voice..all are perfect for 2011 best love failure song. BUT...in this movie, this song is not needed at all. Clearly we can see, that Subha is not in love with Aravind and she never ever tried to tackle or seduce him too. So I felt that the video clip of the song is a total waste. This song will reminds you " avan enna enna thedi vantha anjala" from Vaaranam Aayiram.

Yele Lama...
Out from the situation. Can you imagine..rock style romantic song...while you were waiting at the bus stop in the mid of night, knowing that you are being assassinated. Song clip similar to "Ooh Aayiye..Aayiye" from Ayan.

Innum Enna Thozha..
Good song at the rite timing. You'll get provoked.

Not minus point...only my Dissatisfaction okay...

1. Sincerely there is no chemistry in between Surya and Shruti. I don't feel any magic in between both of them on the screen. Nor when proposing love neither in any lovey dovey songs...such a waste. I think it would be fine if their relationship is just like Surya and Nayan in Ghajini.

2. At the time when they discuss at cemetery how to fight back the villain, why does the idea of research process on Surya's DNA came out only from Malathi? Isn't it Shruthi who have done the thesis for the past 3 years and struggled a lot to find out about Bodhidharma and his descendent should voice out first? That scene make dull shade on Shruthi who shined in the beginning.

3. It would have make sense if the climax fight scene starts, after the 12 days of complete experiment on Surya's DNA. I know its Biotech Engineering issue. And I'm not a Biotech student as well. But its slightly not logic at all, to expect a positive result when you stopped an experiment in half way. Rite or not..?

4. The nerves activation in Surya's body in the climax fight scene..reminds me "Ratchakan" movie.

5. A big question, does the eye colour will change too...after the DNA activation?

6. The car accident graphics are too obvious. Get bored with the lengthy accident shot.

Overall...
This is still the best movie for me. Even though I'd mentioned few of my dissatisfaction, all that were faded away in front of the marvelous story creation by director. ARM, you are another Manirathnam.
